AC current

In Ac current direction of charge flow or current periodically reverses means its direction changes from positive cycle to negative cycle. It has a waveform of sine-wave. As AC current direction changes periodically, it has some positive cycles and some negative cycles. This direction reversal is due to its generation mechanism.

In Alternating current the flow of charge carriers changes direction periodically. As a result, the voltage level also reverses along with the current. AC current completes one cycle in a time period “T”. Means it starts from 00 to 900  and then 900 to 1800 then 1800 to 2700 or (- 900) and again from 2700 to 3600 or 00 .  We can see it is changing periodically from 0 to 360 so its frequency would be : 1/T. Thus ac has frequency.

एसी धारा की दिशा समयावधि पर परिवर्तित होती रहती है अर्थात इसके चार्ज के प्रवाह की दिशा अथवा धारा धनात्मक चक्र से ऋणात्मक चक्र में बदलती रहती है। इसकी तरंग का रूप साइन वेव कहलाती है। एक धारा की दिशा लगातर धनात्मक चक्र से ऋणात्मक चक्र दिशा में परिवर्तित होती रहती है जिसमे कुछ धनात्मक और कुछ ऋणात्मक चक्र होते है ऐसा इसके पैदा होने के मैकेनिज्म के कारण होता है।

एसी में आवेश प्रवाह की दिशा समयावधि पर बदलती रहती है जिसके कारण वोल्टेज का स्तर भी धारा के साथ साथ बदलता रहता है। एसी धारा एक चक्र T कालचक्र में पूरी करती है जिसे उसका आवर्तकाल कहते है। इस प्रकार एसी धारा 0 से 90 अंश फिर 270 अंश और फिर 180 अंश पूरा करती हुई 360 अंश पर एक चक्र पूरा करती है।

इस प्रकार एक निश्चित समयकाल में लगातार धारा की दिशा बदलने से एसी धारा का अपनी आवर्ती होती है।
